Memory Brick Project Update - July 2015

Our little Memory Garden has been a huge success and it’s all due to you wonderful folks who have supported us in this endeavor!  It is so great to be standing out there enjoying the view and knowing some of these people who have contributed so much to our Dreamland Community.  It’s really wonderful when someone comes along and relays a story about one of the folks with a brick.  I love the stories and only wish there was a way to relay them all – those stories make this Memory Garden something really special!

This past Memorial Day we decorated our little Memory Garden with a display of flags to show respect to our veterans.  We are always working to improve things and are hoping that with the continued success of the memory brick project, we will be able to make more improvements to the facilities.  After all, our community should be our priority, and we want to keep it attractive to enjoy even more.

The number of bricks sold so far is 91.  There are about 1800 bricks in the Memory Garden space, so there’s plenty of room for more!  The cost of the brick is partially for the engraver and the balance goes into an account where we are hoping to do a “project” for Dreamland Villa in the future.  There are so many improvements that are needed and the Fundraising Committee is working on the smaller projects first. 

If you are interested in purchasing a memory brick, all bricks are 4”x 8” and are $50.00 each.  We do expect the order process to take a little longer over the summer months, since we need up to ten orders before processing.  This also helps to reduce the cost.  Please make checks payable to DVCC Memory Brick Project and either bring in or mail to the office located at:  320 N. 55th Place, Mesa, AZ 85205.  Be sure to include your name, address and phone number in case there are any questions regarding your request.
