Roger Peets
Roger L. Peets ,87, of Mesa passed away at Hospice of the Valley on February 21, 2013. He was born on March 16, 1925, in Merrill, New York.

Roger joined the Navy at the age of 18 and served 3 years as a Gunner’s Mate on the USS Iowa Naval Ship during WWII.

He married his sweetheart, Yvonne, on May 4, 1946. He and Yvonne moved to New Hampshire from Massachusetts in 1973, where he owned and operated The Village Inn in Bristol.

They moved to Florida in 1982 where they lived for 22 years until they relocated to Mesa, Arizona.

Roger met many wonderful friends throughout his life, all of whom will miss the love and joy he shared with them. He loved to play golf and always enjoyed playing cards with family and friends.

Roger lived a full and vibrant life and will be remembered for being a hard worker, a fun-loving companion, and a true family man. His family will be eternally stronger because of the love he shared with each and every one of them.

Roger is survived by his wife of 66 years, Yvonne; son Guy (Linda); daughter Amy(Glenn); grandchildren Kristen, Heather, Megan, Sean, Michelle, Jeremy and Mary; great grandchildren Kahla, Connor, Reese, Jaden, Drew, Jack, Morgan, Kendall and Payten; his sister Norma(Manny); many brothers in-law and sister-in-law; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his infant son Shawn; and his parents, father Prosper and mother Goldie.

Memorial Services were held with military honors at Sonoran Skies Mortuary, 5650 E. Main Street, Mesa at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, February 26, 2013. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E .Flower Street, Phoenix, Arizona. 85014
