The first meeting of the Anaheim Street Neighborhood Watch was held on Wednesday, March 13. We had a great turn out and our block captain, Jim Gilbert, was there to answer questions. It was a gloriously warm spring day and as usual, our potluck response was terrific. We had a wide array of appetizers and salads to go with our burgers and chicken.

The meeting was hosted by Orest and Nydia Proban in conjunction with a 100th birthday celebration for Julia Pavich. Of course, we had cake and ice cream to go with all the other goodies. What a wonderful time we had getting to know our neighbors and celebrating an incredible milestone. When asked about her time on Anaheim Street, Julia answered with some reminisces: “My husband and I moved to Dreamland Villa in 1970. We are the original owners of our house. There have been a lot of changes.” In answer to a comment on her attaining 100 years in good health, she replied “I’ll bet there are others in Dreamland Villa older than I am.” Can anyone out there meet her challenge?
