The Dreamland Villa Sheriff’s Posse was established to support the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office in crime prevention for our community, aiding in emergency and other law enforcement details. The primary objective is to safeguard the welfare of the citizens of our community.
The Posse is all volunteers who have donated thousands of hours of their own time to help prevent crime in our area. They have conducted thousands of security checks while residents were away from their homes. Other areas of the service they provide is to support the Sheriff with crime scene protection, traffic accidents, welfare checks, felony warrants, 911 calls, search and rescue and the annual holiday mall patrol in December.
The Posse receives no federal, state or county funding. Each member privately supplies their own uniforms and upkeep of the same. There is an annual fund drive letter sent to individual homes in the community to support the operating expenses. These expenses include vehicle purchase, maintenance, fuel, special insurances, telephone and radio equipment. Without this financial support Dreamland Villa would not have this cost effective ability to have high visibility marked patrol cars on our streets.
Unless you have an emergency, call the Maricopa County Sherriff's non-emergency number, 602-876-1011. It is on the second page of the DVRC phone book. They will dispatch the most readily available personnel, which may include a member of the Posse. The Posse does not maintain an official phone number. They are volunteers and there is no way of knowing who might be on duty at any given time. The Sherriff's office does know though, so they are the appropriate office to call. And if you have an emergency, call 911.
Just a reminder! Stop at the Dreamland Office and leave your "away from home" instructions and contact information to insure a Posse watch of your property during your absence"
