Desert Nature Walk
DVRC maintains most of this one-mile strip with native, drought-resistant vegetation that encourages wildlife. Velda Rose Estates maintains the south portion between 56th Street and Recker Road.
The Nature Walk is intended for walkers/hikers and is open for everyone to enjoy. All motorized vehicles are prohibited, with the exception of electric carts. Wheelchairs, bicycles, walkers, etc. are welcome, as long as they are used in a prudent manner. (Velda Rose has their portion posted "No Bicycles".)
Pets must be leashed and you must bring bags to clean up any deposits. A complete list of Rules and Regulations can be found here.
The Nature Walk committee sponsors clean up of debris along the trail from time to time. If you would like to help, watch the calendars in the right column of the home page for specific dates or contact the committee chairman. A list of the Standing Committees can be found on the Organization page.
Looking for a longer hike?
Please be cautious when crossing Recker or Higley. Traffic travels at 45+ MPH! Aerial view showing location of Nature Trail
