Hobbies and Crafts

Art Room
Meets at Read Hall in the Art Room(R-5). Instructional classes for beginners, intermediate and advanced oil painting, watercolor, mixed watermedia, acrylic and collage, and portraits. Fall and winter classes. Open painting at other times.

Betty Jacobsen is the current monitor. Members meet to decorate and fire green ware. Classes are Tuesday and Thursday, 9 AM to Noon.

Fused Glass Class
Monday and Wednesday 9:30 a.m. - Noon and 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Also Monday evening 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
September through April. Summer Hours: Monday 9:30 a.m. - Noon and 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m.

Computer Club
Join the club and become computer literate with Computers, tablets and iPads. Beginner classes and problem solving help are available. The club meets in the computer room, (R-9) at Read Hall.

Lapidary Shop
Join this group to cut and polish gem stones and create craft items and jewelry. Shop is open Monday through Friday at 8:00AM to 11:30 at Read Hall (R-6). It is also open on Saturday morning 9:00AM to Noon.

Quilting Club
Meets every Thursday at 1:00 PM in Read Hall during the Winter and 2nd & 4th week during the Summer.

Photography Class within the Computer Club
The Photography Class of the Computer Club meets every Monday at 9:00 AM in the computer room, (R-9) at Read Hall.

Wood Carving
Take up a new hobby in a relaxed atmosphere. Carve animals, characteristics of humans, humanistic carvings, crosses, walking sticks, and more. Visit the class, learn what tools you will need to begin wood carving and enjoy a new adventure.

The shop is open for your woodworking needs. Assistance is available if necessary. The woodshop has been upgraded and modernized recently.
