OrganizationDreamland Villa is an age-restricted community for persons 55 years and older. Development began in 1959 and extended into the 70s. The Dreamland Villa Community Club was chartered as a non-profit organization in 1961 to manage the amenities provided for the community. The name was changed to Dreamland Villa Retirement Community in 2017. A seven-member board, through its staff and committees, manages the amenities and oversees compliance with HUD/HOPA requirements and Maricopa County for maintaining its 55+ status, known as the Senior Citizen Overlay. The Dreamland Villa Retirement Community organization is sustained by annual fees.
The Dreamland Villa community amenities consist of two separate complexes and a nature trail. The nature trail runs east of Higley Rd. and west of 64th Street between Colby and Decatur Streets under the utility lines.
The Read Hall complex contains the business office, meeting rooms, indoor and outdoor activities, and has two pools and a spa.
The Farnsworth Hall complex includes a large auditorium with a full stage and kitchen, exterior band shell, including a swimming pool and spa, as well as a few outdoor activities. It is home to the entertainment events as well as used for pancake breakfasts, arts and craft shows, pot luck dinners, line dancing, and other activities.
Both facilities are available for the general public to Rent for weddings, Quinceanera, parties, memorial services, conferences, trade shows, and performing arts events.
