The Study Session was called to order by President Red Westall at 9:00 AM. Eight board members were present: Larry Wilkens, Lyle Wood, Patty Thorpe, Steve Holleque, Frances Skaggs, Dodie Gruner, Agnes Forsyth, and Red Westall. Members who were absent: Jim Cook, Judy Ford and Gordon Watson. Wendell Black was absent/excused. Present at the meeting were Barb Miller and Dorothy Randall. Red Westall confirmed there was no secretary replacement yet but Andrea Hill would fill in temporarily.

The Knox Box was defined by Charles Dubbs. It is a box with keys to the buildings in case of emergencies. The box could be accessed by EMT/Fire/Emergency personnel. Lyle Wood suggested it be further discussed at the board meeting.

Red Westall and Lyle Wood discussed the issues regarding Velda Rose residents paying dues and using Dreamland’s facilities. It is in the exploratory phase.

Patty Thorpe gave a budget report and explained the proposed dues increase. She reported on the contract with John’s Villa for 2013.

Lyle Wood reported on the discussions with other members regarding downsizing the Board in the upcoming years.

Agnes Forsyth read the proposed changes to the by-laws step by step. The changes would be discussed and voted on at the board meeting.

Red Westall said the Nominating Committee has eight candidates for the next election.

He stated four candidates were appointed for the Personnel Committee. They are as follows: Steve Holleque, Jim Cole, Ken Hyink, and Pat Fender. Dorothy Randall requested her name be withdrawn from the list of appointees.

The meeting was adjourned by Red Westall.

The board members then began an Executive Session to discuss salaries.
