John Sabbagh
I was born in North East Syria, The Middle East. I gradated at high school in 1946. I worked in farming as a land lord in different style than it is acknowledged here. At the same time I taught in the high school and the elementary. In 1959, while attending a teachers spiritual conference, I responded to the call of serving the Lord. I went back to college. I graduated with the degree of BA at the American University of Beirut, Lebanon and Master of Divinity at the (International) Near East School of Theology in Beirut, Lebanon in 1947. Our seminary and AUB are English speaking institutes.

I was ordained as Minister of the Word and Sacrament in our National Evangelical Synod in Syria and Lebanon and served The Presbyterian Church in both countries.

In 1988, I was invited to the USA by the Synod Of the South West, Presbyterian Church USA. In 1991, I was appointed as a chaplain I (One) in the Arizona Department of Correction in Douglass State Prison Complex . Two years later, I was promoted to Senior Chaplain II to the Eyman State Prison Complex in Florence where I served for another twelve years. I retired on April 08, 2005.

Since then, as time went on, I became involved in my church, the hospital ministry specially in BBMC, BHH, our church and the Singles Club of the DVCC in addition to the family and friends with active periodical visits to the, phycisians specialists and medical centers. We moved to Mesa, April 1993.

In the ministry, at work, with family and friends, my attitude and response follow the following principles or the way to address:

  1. National- I have deep respect and love to our army with all their branches, to law enforcement corpse, to firefighters and to every person who serves the public in any way.
  2. My affirmative principle in dealing with others is based on love, respect and openness to solve hard issues in a flexible and friendly style.
  3. When I take over any responsibility, it becomes a commitment not an obligation.
  4. I preside with the laws, rules or regulations even if I am not content with then till they are changed. I do not encourage law violation.
Thank you and God bless you.
