Mesa Recycling Site Closed Oct. 3, 2019

The City of Mesa provides curb side blue recycling containers for Mesa residents. However, Dreamland Villa is in a "county island" and not part of the City of Mesa. In the past they provided a "drop-off" recycling center on Power road near University Drive which could be used by anyone. Unfortunately, the city closed the site October 3, 2019. You can read their explanation at the link below to their website.

This might seem unfair, but keep in mind city residents pay for their waste collection, which includes recyclables. The recycling center was essentially a courtesy to those in county islands.

The private waste collectors we use in Dreamland Villa could collect recyclables, however it would require a push from us and of course there would be a cost they would need to pass on to the user. Nothing is free and that was what the recycling drop off center was for us. We need to encourage the waste collectors to expand into recycling and pay our fair share.
