Charles “Chuck” Krasselt (2018)

Charles Virgil “Chuck” Krasselt , 94, died Sunday,April 29, 2018, at his home in Mesa, Ariz.

He and his wife, Anna, moved to Dreamland Village Retirement Community in 1998. He worked in the Lapidary Shop with Jack Kneer from 1998 to 2008. They made and sold rock clocks, tables and jewelry. They also made counters for Farnsworth Hall as a donation from the Lapidary Shop. When he left the shop, there was more than $10,000 in funds.

He took several classes in the Art Department and enjoyed painting. He also worked in the Wood Shop as a monitor for several years, making bowls, cutting boards and other items. He was active in the Computer Club with his wife and worked at Help Services.

Born Dec. 16, 1923 in Idaho, he relocated to Arizona in 1988 following his retirement. He worked as a businessman in Moscow, Idaho, managing two jewelry stores and later working with his wife at Snip~N~Whip Fabrics, doing sewing machine repair. After his retirement, he and Anna spent six summers working for the National Park Service in Wyoming and Colorado. They also enjoyed traveling to Alaska and visiting family in several states.

Survivors include his wife, Anna (Lawson), whom he married on June 30, 1944; children, Caroline (Dan) Nelson of Mesa, Nancy (Steve) Koorenny of Tacoma, Wash., Charles “Larry” (Christine) Krasselt of Moscow, Idaho, and Timothy (Roger Di Paolo) Krasselt of Stow, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren. A granddaughter, Tammy Mundell, four brothers and a sister died previously.

His wish was for his body to be donated to Research for Life, followed by cremation, with his ashes scattered over the desert in Arizona.
