Leroy Summers Baker Jr (2019)


Leroy Summers Baker Jr,  82, of Mesa, AZ passed away July 9, 2019 at Banner Baywood Hospital of complications related to Pancreatic Cancer. He was born on November 1, 1936 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.   He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Bettina Yvonne (Harris) Baker and three daughters, Denise Coonley, of Louisville, KY,   Donna Corberelli, of Tempe, AZ and Karen Hammel of Justin, TX. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Leroy “Roy” was a graduate of Arizona State University with a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. He was employed for 30 years in the telephone industry in the Fort Worth, TX area.

After retiring to Dreamland Villa in Mesa, AZ, Roy worked seasonally for H&RBlock doing taxes until his illness required that he resign.

Roy was an active member of the Dreamland Computer Club where his knowledge and expertise was shared.

His body is being donated to Science Research. No memorial service is being planned. Any donations can be made in his name to the Cancer Society.
