Wendell BlackI was born in Topeka, Kansas, moved to Seattle, Washington, with my parents in 1947. I graduated from Lincoln High School in 1958. After some work in steel construction, I was hired by Toledo Scale Company of Toledo, Ohio. My career with Toledo Scale started with training in test and calibration of all types of scales. After two years the company decided to send me to engineering school. At the University of Toledo I did design work on special weighing applications. From there I was placed on a national sales team for a period of eleven years. My next assignment was a branch manager of the Seattle office with the responsibility for sales and service for the States of Washington and Alaska. I retired from Toledo Scale Company in 1992 and moved to north central Washington. I became interested in local politics and was elected Mayor of the city in 1999, serving two terms. Great job to hold! Bought my home in 1999 upon deciding I like the area finally retired here. I look forward to being able to serve on the Board of Directors of Dreamland Villa Community Club.
