June Matz (2011)

June Matz, 73, of Dreamland Villa went to be with her Lord and Savior  November 15, 2011.  June and husband Louie were active in the community until Louie’s death in 2004.  Louie was  an avid aviator, parking their plane at Falcon Field and flying between their homes in Mesa and Prescott.  June was certified to pilot the aircraft in an emergency.

June Ruth Nibbe Claahsen Swanson Matz was born In Chicago, Illinois, on May 28,1938, to Herman and Ruth Nibbe.  They  moved to Arizona in 1962, and she worked as a nurse for 28 years for Samaritan Health Services, retiring in 1993.  She was also an active member at Grace Community Church as well as a loving mother, grandmother, wife and friend.  She was preceded in death by her husbands, Bernard Claahsen, George Swanson and Louis Matz.

Survived are her sons, Paul of Tempe and Mark Claahsen and daughter-in-law, LeAnn of Yorba Linda California, granddaughters, Caitlyn and Cassy Claahsen; family, Ken and Ruth Swanson, Steve and Sue Swanson, Deborah and Ron Hall, Janet and Mehdi Jazayeri, Louis and Terri Matz, Kenneth, Jeff, Brian, Benjamin, Eric and Brandon Swanson, Michael and Gregory Hall, Amir and Sara Jazayeri, Bryan, Scott, Beth, and Jennifer Matz, and three spoiled cats.
