Meet Sherry Braegger, another member of the maintenance crew. Sherry has been with DVCC over six years. Her main responsibility is Farnsworth Hall which includes cleaning, yard maintenance, and set ups for our many activities. Seasonal decorating seems to be Sherry’s forte which she does very well. Many of the decorations she has made herself.
Sherry was born in Utah near Salt Lake City, but moved to Wyoming to complete high school. She has also lived in Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Indiana, and Colorado but considers Arizona the best.
She earned a BFA from Herron School of Art (IVPVI) in 1985, in visual communications as well as having many varied interests in crafts, oil painting, photography, writing and ceramics. After moving to Arizona in 1985, she got a job as production artist at Peak Gallery, painting pottery for the next seven years. For the next ten years she owned and operated her own business, Southwestern Hand Painted Pottery. She came to work for DVCC, giving her time to spend time garage saling and checking out the many thrift shops.
Sherry likes working at Dreamland and sharing a laugh with everyone. She believes we are all put here on this earth for a reason, and we can sink, tread water or learn to swim.
Remember, when you see Sherry around the Villa or any of the maintaince crew be sure to shake a hand and say a job well done.
