OLD Poker Run

Tue, June 5, 2018

9:00 AM - 11:00 AM

That’s right – after an absence the last two years, the Dreamland Villa Poker Run returns!
Circle February 22nd on your calendar.  This event will be held in the morning – with plans being worked out for food & entertainment in the afternoon.  Remember, you don’t need to be a card shark or even know how to play poker – to have FUN!
We will have people there helping anyone that needs it.
Prizes awarded for the top poker hands!

What is a poker fun run? For those who have never participated in one, it’s simple, it’s fun, and the best part is that you don’t need to know how to play poker to win. It’s also a fundraiser for Dreamland Villa Community.   The event actually has little to do with poker, beyond using the hand-rankings to score the event. You don’t need to know a great deal about poker to take part other than what beats what in the scoring and that will be shown on your score sheet or that can be done for you at the finish line. As you follow the 3 mile course map that is located on your score card by walking, driving, riding your bicycle or any clever way you come up with, you will make five stops and draw a playing card out of a container at each stop. If your draw is duplicated from one of your previous stops, you will draw another card and it will be entered onto your game sheet. After making all of your stops and getting to the end of the route you will have a complete poker hand of five cards which will be recorded. At the completion of your Fun Run your poker hand value chart will help you, so you don’t have to be a poker player to win and have fun. There will be prizes for the best hands, but most of all you will be supporting our Dreamland Villa Community Club. Whatever way you decide to come, bring friends and neighbors because anyone can participate. Yes, you can go thru more than one time after paying a new entrance fee. You can go thru anytime as long as you start no later than noon. We want all participants to have fun and remain safe, remember speed has nothing to do with who wins, so we need to obey all traffic laws.
