Important Residents Meeting

Tue, November 11, 2014

Farnsworth Hall at 2:00 pm & repeated at 7:00 pm

Dreamland Villa Community Club has reached a critical time in the life of the club. Current income is no longer adequate to continue operations as in the past. Please come to one of the Special Residents Meetings Nov. 11th. ALL residents, including renters, are encouraged to attend. The board will discuss the problems the Club is trying to resolve and the solutions they have come up with so far. This is your community and your Club and the board needs your comments and suggestions to move forward.

Here are some of the topics that will be discussed:

  • Efforts by the board to control expenses and increase revenue.
  • Current financial condition and 2015 budget.
  • Potential future items that could or would have to be implemented if adequate funding is not obtained.
  • Results of the resident survey initiated in April, 2014.
  • Question and answer period.
The bottom line is that not enough residents are members. This is the Club's primary source of revenue. We are not an HOA, which might be why you purchased property here. But we also don't have some of the authority an HOA provides. We don't have the ability to increase our revenue to cover the costs of maintaining amenities and that is our problem.

Sure you say, but I don't use any of the amenities. Why should I help support them? Are you willing to potentially lose the 55+ status that everyone has been enjoying? What about your property valuation? We (or our estate) will all be selling our homes sometime. Loss of amenities and potentially losing our 55+ status will certainly effect valuations and how easy it will be to find a buyer.

The situation is getting serious. If you care at all about the future of Dreamland Villa, the community you live in, you need to attend the meeting at either 2 pm or 7 pm.
